HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1974-1403 Adds 18 to § 8(k) of Ord. 962, zoning (Repealed by 1503)Prep )CC - 1403 ORDINANCE NO. 1403 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 962, TO ALLOW PROFESSIONAL OFFICE BUILDINGS AS A SEPARATE ENTERPRISE IN THE C-2-A, SPECIAL LIMITED COMMERCIAL ZONE WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms and provisions of the Government Code of California, proceedings were duly initiated for the amendment of Ordinance No. 962, Zoning Ordinance of the City of National City, and WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, hearings were held by the City Planning Commission of said City and also by the City Council of said City and all persons interested were given opportunity to appear and be heard before said Planning Commission and said City Council, and WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the recommendation of the City Planning Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. All protests, if any, against said amendment to Ordinance No. 962, and each of them be and hereby are denied and overruled. SECTION 2. That Section 8, sub- section K of Ordinance No. 962, is hereby amended by adding a new para- graph 18, to read as follows: 18. Professional office buildings; provided, however, (a) No professional office building shall be permitted on any parcel of land without the ap- proval of the location and plans by the City Council, upon recommendation of the Planning Commission. In approving the location and plans, the Planning Commission shall take into con- sideration the provisions of off- street parking, potential and/or existing traffic hazards with relation to abutting streets, aesthetic appearance of the property and structures. The City Council may approve, modify or disapprove the plans and location depending upon the evidence provided by the Plan- ning Commission, applicant an staff. (b) In approval of the plans, on any surface of the structure visible to the public, the Planning Com- mission shall take under con- sideration the use of decorative materials; i.e., glass, stone, wood, new or used brick and decorative masonry, to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the building or structure. (c) A ten foot (10') setback shall be maintained on all property abutting upon a dedicated street. Said setback, excluding drive- ways, shall be landscaped and provided with a permanent underground irrigation system. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of January, 1974.
