HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1974-1434 Amends § 10(D)(5) of Ord. 962, zoning (Not codified)1434 ORDINANCE NO. 1434 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 962 TO PROHIBIT UNSHIELDED LIGHT SYSTEMS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN AUTOMOBILE STORAGE LOT OR ANY USE WHICH IN THE OPINION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION IS SUB- STANTIALLY SIMILAR, AND PROVIDING A TIME PERIOD OF TWO (2) YEARS FOR ABATEMENT OF EXISTING UNSHIELDED LIGHT SYSTEMS WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms and provisions of the Government Code of California, proceedings were duly ini- tiated for the amendment of the Na- tional City Zoning Ordinance No. 962, and WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, hearings were held by the City Planning Commission of said City and also by the City Council of said City, and persons interested were given an opportunity to appear and be heard be- fore said Planning Commission and said City Council, and WHEREAS, the City Council has ap- proved the recommendation of the City Planning Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUN- CIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. All protests, if any, against said amendment to Ordinance No. 962 and each of them be and here- by are denied and overruled. SECTION 2. That Section 10-D-5 of Ordinance No. 962 be amended to read as follows: 5. Every lot or parcel of land here- after used as an automobile storage lot or an automobile, tractor, implement, boat, recreational vehicle or trailer sales lot or any use which in the opinion of the Planning Commission is substantially similar, in the commercial, manufacturing and industrial zones shall be installed as provided in this section subject to approval of location and plans by the City Planning Commis- sion; and, stringer lights or lighti systems which include the use of shielded bulbs or other wire suppo lighting systems shall be prohibited such lots or parcels; provided that any such lighting systems installed and operating on July 1, 1973, may be con- tinued for a period not to exceed two (2) years from said date.
