HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1966-1142 Amends § 7 of Ord. 962, zoning (Repealed by 1503)ORDINANCE NO. 1142 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 962, ZONING ORDINANCE, AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1112, OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms and provisions of the Government Code of California, proceedings were duly initiated for the amendment of the National City Zoning Ordinance No. 962, and WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, hearings were held by the City Planning Commission of said City and also by the City Council of said City, and all persons interested were given an opportunity to appear and be heard before said Planning Commission and said City Council, and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of National City has regularly and duly certified to the City Council its report and has recommended such amendments NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of National City does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. All protests, if any, against said amend- ments to Ordinance No. 962 and each of them be and hereby denied and overruled. SECTION 2. Section 7, Sub -section E of Ordinance No. 962, Paragraph 1 is hereby amended to read: 1. In the R-1-S-1 Zones no building shall be erected, altered, placed or permitted to remain on any lot other than one single family dwelling and an attached or detached private garage, or car port for not less than two cars, not to exceed one story in height; provided, however, that one single family dwelling may be permitted to exceed one story in height, subject to ap- proval of the location and plans by the City Council, upon re- commendation of the Planning Commission. All applications for building permits in excess of one story in height shall be accompanied by drawings, showing plot plan, front, side and rear elevations of the proposed building, structure, or other improvement or additions thereto; and by a statement and/or notations indicating the proposed materials and exterior treatment, the design concept with respect to population density, landscaping and parking. The Planning Commission shall consider such drawings, statement buildings that they and notations in and developments an endeavor to provide that such shall be so designed and constructed will be harmonious with the area and the architecture of the area where they are proposed. Further, that they not limit the opportunity to attain the reasonable use and value of land and improvement, impair the desirability of living con- ditions in the same or adjacent residential areas, or otherwise adversely affect the general property and welfare. To this end the Planning Commission may require and changes in the plans of such proposed buildings, structures and other improvements as it may deem to be necessary to accomplish the purpose of this Section, and shall not approve any plans until it is satisfied that such purposes will be accomplished thereby. No building permit shall be issued for any such buildings, structures or other improvements unless such plans have been approved by the Planning Commission.
