HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1963-1065 Annexation (Special)ORDINANCE NO. 1065 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "SHELBY DRIVE ANNEXATION", TO THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY. WHEREAS, on the 18th day of December, 1962, the Council of the City of National City did pass and adopt Resolution No. 8262 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of National City, said territory being therein designated as "SHELBY DRIVE ANNEXATION", and said Resolution did describe the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 8262 did contain a notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City of National City would hear protests made by any person owning real property within the territory pro- posed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than forty nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of said Resolution; and WHEREAS, on the 5th day of February, 1963 at the hour of 2:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of National City, County of San Diego, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 8262 for hearing protests to the said annexation, the said City Council did hear and pass on all protests made to the proposed annexation and did determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public owners of one-half of the value of the public owned territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of National City, and is uninhabited territory in the County of San Diego; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of National City does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of National City does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of National City, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of National City. That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of National City is herein approved, is all that territory situated in the County of San Diego, State of California, more particularly described as follows: A portion of the Northeasterly Quarter of Quarter Section 126 of Rancho de la Nacion according to Map thereof by Morrill No. 166 filed in the Office of the County Recorder of San Diego County Beginning at a point in the Boundary of the City of National City said point being formed by intersection of the Southerly line of Sweetwater Road as shown by Road Survey No. 558 and a line that is parallel to and 172 feet Westerly from the Easterly line of Shelby Drive as shown on Map No. 1187. 1. Thence Southerly along said parallel line to intersection with a line parallel to and 532.20 feet Southerly from the Northerly line of said Quarter Section 126 2. Thence Easterly along the line parallel to and 532.20 feet Southerly from the Northerly line of said Quarter Section 126 to intersection with the Westerly line of Shelby Drive as shown on Map No. 1187 3. Thence Northerly along the Westerly line of Shelby Drive as shown on Map No. 1187 to intersection with the Southerly line of Sweetwater Road as shown on Road Survey No. 558 4. Thence Northwesterly along the Southerly line of Sweetwater Road to the Point of Beginning.
