HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1961-995 Annexation (Special)ORDINANCE NO. 995 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED. TERRITORY, DESIGNATED "EIGHTH STREET.ANNEXATION," TO THE. CITY OF NATIONAL CITY WHEREAS, on the 28th day of February, 1961, the Council of the City of National City did pass and adopt Resolution No. 7878 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of National City, said territory being there- in designated as did describe the and "EIGHTH STREET ANNEXATION," and said Resolution boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 7878 did contain a notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City would hear protests made by any person owning real property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than forty nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of said Resolution; and WHEREAS, on the 18th day of April, 1961, at the hour of 2:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of National City, County of San Diego, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 7878 for hearing protests to the said annexation, the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the pro- posed annexation and did determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public owners of one-half of the value of the publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of National City, and is uninhabited territory in the County of San Diego; NOW, THEREFORE., the City Council of the City of National City does ordain as follows: Section 1: The City Council of the City of National City does hereby approve the annexation of the territory herein- after described to the City of National City, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of National City. That said territory, the annexation City of National City is herein approved, is situate in the County of San Diego, State of California, more particularly described as follows: 1. Beginning at the Northwest corner of Quarter Section 103, Rancho de la Nacion, according to Map thereof No. 166 on file in the Recorder's Office of San Diego County, California; 2. Thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said Quarter Section a distance of 363 feet; 3. Thence Southerly at right angles a distance of 40 feet; 4. Thence Westerly along a line parallel with said Northerly line of Quarter Section 103 a distance of 363 feet to the Westerly line thereof; 5. Thence Northerly along said Westerly line a distance of 40 feet to the "Point of Beginning'. of which to the all that territory PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of National City, California, this ?4 day of May, 1961, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Allen, Hollingsworth, Morgan, Reid, Hart NOES: None ABSENT: None ATT EST CITY CLERK I hereby approve the foregoing Ordinance this day of May, 1961. Mayor of the City o National City, California ORDINANCE NO. 996 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY ADOPTING STANDARDS FOR RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING OF POLICE OFFICERS The City Council of the City of National City does ordain as follows: Sectionl: The City Council of the City of National City declares that it desires to qualify for state aid for the training of police officers under the provisions of Chapter 1 of Title 4, Part 4, of the Penal Code of California. Section 2: The City Council of the City of National City hereby declares that while receiving aid from the State of California pursuant to said Chapter 1 of Title 4, Part 4, of the Penal Code of California, the City of National City will adhere to the standards for recruitment and training of police officers established by the California Commission on Police Officers and Training.
