HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1962-1024 Amends §§ 40, 48, 58(b), 59 and 81 of Ord. 827, traffic (11.32—11.36)ORDINANCE NO. 1024 NREGULATIING TRACE FFICGINORDINANCE IONALNO. 827 CITY The City Council of the City of National City, California does ordain as follows: Section 1 The second paragraph of Section 40 of Ordinance No. 827 is hereby amended to read as follows: A stop sign shall be erected on each and every street intersecting such through street or portion thereof so designated and at those entrances of other intersections where a stop is required and at any railroad grade crossing so designated. Every such sign shall conform with and shall be placed as provided in the Vehicle Code. Section 2. Section 48 of Ordinance No. 827 is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION# 48. Restrictions of Use of Freeways. No person shall drive or operate any bicycle, or any vehicle which is not drawn by a motor vehicle upon any street established as a freeway, as defined by the Vehicle Code, nor shall any pedestrian walk across or along any such street so designated and described except in space set aside for the use of pedestrians, provided official signs are in place giving notice of such restrictions. Section 3. Paragraph (b) of Section 58 of Ordinance No. 827 is hereby amended to read as follows: (b) In the event a vehicle is parked or left standing upon a street in excess of a consecutive period of 120 hours, any member of the police de- partment authorized by the chief of police may re- move said vehicle from the street in the manner and subject to the requirements of the Vehicle Code. Section 4. Section 59 of Ordinance No. 827 is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 59. in the event a vehicle is park- ed or left standing between 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. or between 4:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M. upon a street where parking has been prohibited by res- olution of the City Council, and signs giving notice thereof are thereon erected, any member of the police department authorized by the Chief of Police may remove said vehicle from the street in the manner provided by and subject to the re- quirements of the Vehicle Code. Section 5. Section 81 of Ordinance No. 827 is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 81. Stopping Standing or Parking Pro- hibited During Certain Hours on Certain Streets. When authorized signs are in place giving notice thereof no person shall stop, stand or park any vehicle upon any street in the central traffic district between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., or between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. of any day except Sundays and holidays for any purpose other than the loading or unloading of passengers or materials subject to the limitations of Section 72.
