AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA,
LIMITING THE AUTHORITY OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY TD FUNCTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National
City has declared a need for a redevelopment agency to function
in the City of National City and declared the legislative body
of the community to be the agency, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National
City intends that any redevelopment program be limited to an
industrial area of the City of National City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National
City wishes to reassure the people of the City of National
City that the Council will not embark on any redevelopment
program in a residential area without a vote of the people;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the authority
of the National City Redevelopment Agency to function is
limited to an industrial zone that is generally bounded on
the North by 18th Street; on the South, by 30th Street; on
the East, by National Avenue; and on the West, by the Kimball
School.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that no redevelopment pro-
gram shall be undertaken by the National City Redevelopment
Agency or the Council of the City of National City in any
other area of the City of National City without first sub-
mitting the issue to the qualified voters of the City so that
the will of the people may be ascertained and obeyed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of National City, California, this 1 3th
