HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1969-1223 Annexation (Special)1223 ORDINANCE NO. 1223 AN ORDINANCE APPROV- ING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED "KOENIG ANNEXATION NO. 1», TO THE CITY OF NA- TIONAL CITY WHEREAS, on the 8th day of April, 1969, the Council of the City of National City did pass and adopted Resolution No. 9796 giving notice of the pro- posal to annex certain unin- habited territory to the City of National City, said territory be- ing therein designated as "KOENIG ANNEXATION NO. 1", and said Resolution did de- scribe the boundaries of the territory proposed to bean- nexed, and WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 9796 did contain a notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City of National City would hear protests made by any person owning real property within the territory proposed to be an- nexed, the time of said hearing being not less than forty nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of said Reso- lution; and WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of June, 1969, at the hour of 8:00 p.m., in the Council Cham- bers in the Civic Center of the City of National City, County of San Diego, State of Califor- nia, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 9796 for hearing protests to the said annexation, the said City Coun- cil did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned territory proposed to be an- nexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public owners of one-half of the value of the publicly owned territory proposed to be an- nexed as determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Na- tional City, and is uninhabited territory in the County of San Diego; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of National City does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City .of National City does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter de- scribed to the City of National City, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of National City. That said territory, the an- nexation of which to the City of National City is herein ap- proved, is all that territory situated in the County of San Diego, State of California, more particularly described as follows: All those portions of Quarter Sections 99, 100 and 109 of the Rancho de la Nacion in the County of San Diego, State of California, according to Map thereof No. 166 filed in the Recorder's Office of said County lying within the following described boundary line: Beginning at a point on the boundary of the City of Na- tional City; being also the intersection of the Southerly line of Sweetwater Road with the Westerly line of the East Half of Quarter Section 109 of the Rancho de la Nacion according to the Map thereof No. 166 by Morrill filed in the office of the Recorder of San Diego County May 11, 1869; 1. Thence Southerly along said Westerly line of the East Half of the Southerly line of said Quarter Section 109; 2. Thence Easterly along the Southerly line of said Quarter Section 109 to the Southeasterly Quarter there- of; 3. Thence Southerly along the Westerly line of Quarter Section 99 of said Rancho de la Nacion to the intersection with the Northerly line of Bonita Fairway according to the Map thereof No. 4581 filed in the said Recorder's office; 4. Thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said Bonita Fairway to the intersection with the Easterly line of the Wes- terly 464 feet of Quarter Section 100 of said Rancho de la Nacion and its Southerly prolongation; 5. Thence Northerly along said Easterly line of the West- erly 464 feet of said Quarter Section 100 and its Southerly prolongation to its intersection with the Southwesterly line of said Sweetwater Road and a point on the boundary of the City of National City; 6. Thence Northerly and West- erly along said Southwesterly line and the boundary of the City of National City to the point of beginning.
