HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1950-778 Amends Ord. 773, sidewalk widths (Repealed by 872)8 is ORDINANCE No. 178 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING OR- DINANCE No. 733 OF THE ORDI- NANCES OF THE CITY OF NA- TIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, BY AMENDING SECTION 8 OF SAID ORDINANCE. The City Council of the City of Na- tional City, California, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 73:3 of the ordinances of the City of National City, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 8. Tha't the sidewalks on all streets and avenues in said City west of National Avenue. except Cleveland Avenue, shall be four- teen feet in width: that the side- walks on Cleveland Avenue shall be twenty feet in width: that the sidewalks on National Avenue from the Northerly City Limits to the Southerly City Limits shall be fourteen feet In width. That the Width of the sidewalks on all streets and avenues in said City East of National Avenue shall be as follows: The sidewalks on all streets eighty feet wide shall be sixteen fee: in width, except on the following streets between the following points: The sidewalks on Second Street from the Easterly line of National Avenue to the Westerly line of highland Avenue shall be twenty feet in width: the sidewalks on Eighth front the Easterly line of National Avenue to the Easterly City Limits shall be fourteen feet in width; the sidewalks on Twelfth Street from the Easterly line of National Avenue to the Westerly line of "1)" Avenue shall be ten feet In width; the sidewalks on Twenty-fourth Street from the Easterly Tine of "1:' Avenue to the Westerly line of Palm Avenue shall be twenty feet in width; the side- walks on highland Avenue from the Southerly line of Twenty-fourth Street to the Northerly line of Thirtieth Street shall be twenty feet In width; the sidewalks on "K" Avenue frotn the Southerly line of Fourth Street to the Northerly line of Eighth Street shall be twenty- four feet In width: the sidewalks on "N" Avenue from the Southerly line of Eighteenth Street to the North- erly line of Twenty-fourth Street shall be twenty feet In width; (2) The sidewalks on all streets sixty feet In width shall be not more than fourteen feet in width and not less than five feet in width. The exact width required for sidewalks on a particular street sixty feet in width shall conform to the width as designated on the official street plans on file In the office of the City Engineer. The sidewalks on all streets fifty feet In width or less shall be five feet in width. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force on the 31st day from and after its final passage. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance to be published once in the National City News, a weekly newspaper of general circula- tion printed and published in the City of National City, California. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of National City, California. this 7th day of March, 195O, by the following vote. to - wit : AYES: Councilmen Adams. Curry, Fritz.
