ORDINANCE NO. 852
AN ORDINANCE OF CITE OF NA-
TIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DE-
CREASING SPEED LIMITS ON CER-
TAIN STREETS WITHIN CITY OF
NATIONAL CITY.
The City Council of City of National
City, California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: That pursuant to Sec-
tion 511.3 of the Vehicle Code of the
State of California, the City Council,
on the basis of an engineering and
traffic survey, does hereby determine
and find that the prima facie limit of
55 miles per hour on the following por-
tions of streets within City of National
City is greater than is reasonable and
safe.
That the City Council of City of Na-
tional City does hereby find, determine
and declare that 35 miles per hour is
the reasonable, safe and appropriate
speed on the following portions of
streets vnthin City of National City, to
facilitate the orderly movement of
traffic.
That 35 miles per hour be, and it is
hereby, declared and established as
the prima facie limit of speed on the
following streets:
1. On Division Street, between the
east side of Palm Avenue and
the west side of Rachael Avenue;
2. On East 4th Street, between the
east side of Palm Avenue and
the west side of Harbison Ave-
nue'
all within City of National City.
SECTION 2: That it Is hereby auth-
orized and ordered that appropriate
signs giving notice thereof be erected
on the aforesaid streets, all in accord-
ance with law.
SECTION 3: That this Ordinance
shall be in full force and effect on and
after the thirty-first day from and
after its final passage.
SECTION 4: That before the expira-
tion of fifteen days after its passage,
the City Clerk of City of National City
shall cause this Ordinance to be pub-
lished once in the National City News,
a newspaper of weekly circulation,
printed and published in the City of
National City, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City
Council of the City of National City,
California, this 3rd day of November,
1953, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen Campbell, Mc-
Clure, Parchen, Sarn.
NAYS: Councilmen None
ABSENT: Carrigan.
