AN ORDINANCE PROIIIBITLNG
UNREASONABLY LOUD OR DIS-
TURBING UNNECESSARY NOIS-
18 IN THE CITY OF NATIONAL
CITY PROVIDING PENALTIES
FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF.
The City Council of National City,
FOES ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION I. That this ordinance
is passed and adopted in the. exer-
cise of the City's police power, for
the protection of the welfare, peace
end comfort of the inhabitants of
the City of National City.
SECTION 2. It shall be unlaw-
ful for a.ny person, firm, association
or corporation to disturb the peace,
c.uiet and comfort of the commun-
i.y, or any portion thereof or
reighborhood therein, by creating
er causing to be created any un-
easonably loud or disturbing un-
na.essary noises in the City of Na-
tisnal City.
SECTION 3. The following nois-
cs, among others, are hereby de -
la ted to be distorting to the peace,
c,ni..t and comfort of that portion
of the community or neighborhood
whercin they are created, and in
a.ion of Section 2 of this or-
dinance; provided however, that
.va,.h enumeration shall not be
deemed or construed as inanydegree
exclusive, but merely illustrative,
it being the intent and purpose of
this ordinance to include and pro-

described in said Section 2.

or signal device on a.ny automobile,
rnctorcycle, bus, street car, or oth-

City Council of the City of National
City, California, this 2nd day of Sep-
tember, 1947, by the following vote,
to -wit;
AYES: Councilmen Cordingly, New-
berry, Thatcher, Fritz.
NAYS: Councilman Adams.

poses, by the creation of loud or
disturbing noise.

necessitating it.
toA ' "--SECTION 4. The enactment of
- this ordinance shall not be con-
strued as repealing or modifying
any simi,ar provisions of any ex-
isting ordinance of said City, ex-
cept in so far as they may be in-
consistent with the proasions of
this ordinance.
SECTION G. Every person, firm,
association or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this or-
dinance snail be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor, and upon convic-
tion shall be punishable by a fine
of not more than five hundred dol-
lars 0;500.00), or by imprisonment
in toe City Jail for a period of not
more than six (0) months, or by
both such fine and imprisonment.
Every such person, firm, asso-
ciation or corporation shall be
deemed guilty of a separate offense
for each and every day the pro-
visions of this ordinance are vio-
la_ed, and for every day during
whi:.h any violation of this ordin-
ance or its provisions continues,
s.zid person, firm, association or
corporation shall be punishable
therefor as herein provided.
SECTION 6. Parades and other
civic functions or gatherings approv-
ed or sanctioned by the City Coun-
cil are exempt from the provisions
of this ordinance.
SECTION 7. This ordinance
shall take effect and be in force
on the thirty-first day from and
after its passage.
SECTION 8. The City Clerk is
directed to publish this ordinance
