ORDINANCE NO. 744
AN ORDINANCE OE THE CITY OF
NATIONAL CITY PROVIDING
FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF
DUUPLICATE PAPERS AND
RECORDS OVER FIVE YEARS
OLD OF THE CITY COURT OF
NATIONAL CITY.
The City Council of the City of
National City DOES ORDAIN:
Section I. All papers and records
filed or kept in criminal proceedings
in the City Court of the City of
National City, other than the docket
and minutes, may upon order of the
Judge thereof, be destroyed after the
lapse of five (5) years following the
final determination of the proceedings,
or the forfeiture of bail in cases in
which no other proceedings are had
during a like period.
Section II. All duplicate records
and papers except the docket and
minutes may be destroyed upon order
of the Judge, after the Lapse of one
year following the final determination
of the proceeding or the forfeiture
of bail in cases in which no other
proceedings are had during a like
period.
- Section III The City Clerk is di-
rected to publish this Ordinance in the
National City News, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed and pub-
lished in the City of National City,
California.
Section IV. This Ordinance shall
take effect and be in force on the
thirty-first day from and after its
passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the
City Council of the City of National
City, California, this 16th day of
December, 1947, by the following vote,
to -wit:
AYES; Councilmen Adams, Cording-
ly, Newberry, Thatcher, Fritz.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
