ORDINANCE NO. 689
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 506 BY THE
ADDITION OF SECTIONS 4%
AND 5r/z.
The Council of the City of National
City, County of San Diego, State of
California., does ordain as follows:
Se.tion 1: Ordinance No. 506, en-
titled "An Ordinance Relating To,
And Regulating Plumbing And Pre-
scribing Conditions Under Which
Pam -thing May Be Carried On In The
City of National City." Adopted De-
cember 21, 1920, is hereby amended by
adding thereto Section 4% as follows:
Section 4%. When the Chief
Plumbing Inspector with the ap-
proval of the Board of Appeals,
finds that a material, manner of
construction, or installation is
as safe and sanitary for use as
that required by this ordinance,
such material, manner of con-
struction, or installation may be
used in lieu of that required in
this ordinance.
Section 2: Ordinance No. 506 is here-
by amended by adding thereto Sec-
tion 51 as follows:
Section 5%. In determining the safe-
ty and sanitation of any proposed al-
ternative use of material, manner
of construction, or installation, the
Chief Plumbing Inspector may re-
quire such physical, chemical and
other tests as to him seern necessary
to establish acceptability. The appli-
cant shall pay the entire cost of such
tests.
Section 3: There being in existence
a state of war between the United
States of America and certain other
nations, and thereby an emergency
exists for the preservation of the
peace, health and safety of the citi-
zens of National City, the City Coun-
cil hereby declares this Ordinance to
be in full force and effect as and of
the dateof final passage.
Section 4: This ordinance shall be
published by the City Clerk of the
City of National City once in the
National City News, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed and pub-
lished in the City of National City,
California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the
City Council of the City of National
City, California, this 5th day of May,
1942, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen Christman, Cor-
dingly, Fritz, Newberry, Thatcher
Nays: Councilmen none
ABSENT: none
