ORDINANCE NO. 657
AN ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA ADDING SEC-
TION 13 TO ORDINANCE
NO. 562 A N D AMENDING
SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 562 OF SAID CITY EN-
TITLED, "AN ORDINANCE
LIMITING THE TIME FOR
PARKING ON PORTIONS OF
NATIONAL AVENUE AND
PORTIONS OF EIGHTH
STREET IN THE CITY OF
NATIONAL CITY, CALIFOR-
NIA, A N D PROVIDING A
PENALTY FOR THE VIOLA-
TION THEREOF."
The City Council of the City of
National City, California, do or-
dain as follows:
SECTION 1. Adding Section
1 % to Ordinance No. 562 of the
City of National City, California
providing that: Except on Sun-
days and holidays it shall be un-
lawful for the operator of any
vehicle to park said vehicle for a
longer period than one (1) hour
between the hours of 8:00 o'clock
A. M. and 6:00 o'clock P. M. of
any day, on Ninth Street in said
City between the westerly line of
"A" Street to the easterly line of
Roosevelt Avenue.
SECTION 2. Section 3 of Ordi-
nance 562 of the City of National
City, California shall be amended
to read as follows: "Any person
violating any of the provisions of
this Ordinance shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor, and upon convic-
tion thereof shall be punished for
first offense by a fine not to ex-
ceed Fifty Dollars ($50.00), or by
imprisonment in the City Jail of
said City for not more than five
(5) days; for a second violation
within a period of one (1) year,
by a fine not to exceed One Hun-
dred Dollars ($100.00), or by im-
prisonment in the City Jail of said
City for not more than ten (10)
days, or by both such fine and
imprisonment; for a third and
each additional offense committed
within one (1) year, by a fine not
to exceed Three Hundred Dollars
($300.00), or by imprisonment in
the City Jail of said City for a
period not to exceed ninety (90)
days, or both such fine and im-
prisonment."
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is
hereby directed to cause this Ordi-
nance to be published once in the
"National City News," a news-
paper printed and published in
said City and of general circula-
tion therein.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance
shall take effect thirty-one (31)
days after its final passage and
approval.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by
the City Council of the City of
National City, California, this
31st day of December, 1937, by
the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen Cordingly,
Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner and
Bird.
NAYS: Councilmen, none.
ABSENT: None.
