ORDINANCE NO. 666
An Ordinance Regulating and Pro-
hibiting Parking of Vehicles on
Certain Public Streets of the City
of Notional City, State of Cali-
fornia.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1: Whenever in this
Ordinance the following terms are
used they shall he deemed and con-
strued to have the meaning
ascribed to them in this section:
Street: Every way, set apart
for puhlic travel.
Vehicle: Every device, in, upon,
or by which, ary person or prop-
erty is, or may be, transported or
drawn upon a puhlic street.
Parking: To stand a vehicle for
a period of time greater than is
reasonably necessary for the ac-
tual unloading or loading of per-
sons or materials.
Operator: Every person, firm, or
corporation, having control of, or
in possession of, or operating a
vehicle.
SECTION II: It shall be unlaw-
ful for the operator of any vehi-
cle to park said vehicle on any
street in National City, California
for a period longer than fifteen
minutes between the hours of 2:00
o'clock A. M. and 6:00 o'clock A.
M. of any day.
SECTION ITT: The provisions
of this ordinance regulating the
parking and standing of vehicles
shall not apply to emergency ve-
hicles of the Police Department,
Sheriff's office, and Fire Depart-
ment, or of the public utilities,
Street Department, and Park De-
partment, of the City of National
City, California, while the driver
of any such vehicle is engaged in
the performance of puhlic duties.
SECTION TV: It shall he un-
lawful for the operator of any
vehicle to stucd or park such ve-
hicle on Fourteenth Street between
"D" Avenue and National Ave-
nue.
SECTION V: PENALTY Ev-
ery person, firm or corporation
violating any of the provisions of
this ordinance shall he subject to
a fine of not to exceed one hundred
dollars or by imprisonment in the
('ity or County jail for a period
not. to exceed sixty days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION VI: The City Clerk
is hereby directed to publish this
ordinance once in the National
City News, a weekly newspaper
of general circulation, printed in
the city of National City, County
of Sar Diego, State of California,
and this ordinance shall he in full
force and effect on the 31st day
after its final passage.

day of May, 1939, by the following
vote, to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen Cordingly,
Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner,
Bird.
NAYS: Councilmen None.
ABSENT: None.
