ORDINANCE NO. 548 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 528 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 50? OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REPEAL- ING ORDINANCE NO. 504 OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTED THE 3rd DAY OF NOV- EMBER, 1920, AND AMENDING SECTIONS 7 AND 12 OF ORDINANCE NO. 497 OF SAID CITY, ADOPTED ON LARCH 16, 1920.0 The Board of Trustee° of the City of National City, California, do ordain as follows: ��,a •` ECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 528 entitled "An Ordinance Amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 507 of the City of National City, California, entitled "An Ordinance Repealing Ordinance No. 504 of the City of National City, Calif- c rnia, adopted the 3rd day of November, 1920, and Amending Sec-. tiona 7 and 12 of Ordinance No. 497 of said City, adopted on March 16, 1920," be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: That the Firedershal of staid City shall receive a salary of One Hundred Fifty Do11ar° (1150.00) per month, and in addition to his other duties shall be chief of the Fire De- partment of said City; That the Chief of the Fire Department is hereby given the authority to ,appoint nix firemen and a Captain of the Fire Department, caid aix firemen shall each receive Three Dollare 03.00) per month salary provided they have been in attendance at each practice during said month, and said Captain shall receive Three and 50/100 Dollars (13.50) per month salary provided he has been in attendance at each practice during said month, provided however, that the sum of One and 50/100 Dollars 5. 01.50 shall be deducted from the salary of each Fireman for each practice that he shall have missed during said month and that the scum of One and 75/100 Dollars ($1.75) shall be de— ducted from the salary of said Captain for each practice that he shall have missed during said month; And be it further provided that each of said Firemen and said Captain shall receive One and 50/100 Dollars ($1.50) each time they answer a. Fire Alarm in addition to the salary hereinabaye stated; That on the .first day of each month the Chief of the Fire Department shall file a written statement with the City Clerk stating the number of practices which have been missed during the preoeeding month by each of said Firemen and said Captain, and the number of alarms each of said Firemen and said Captain have answered during said month, and in making out the warrants for eaid Firemen and said Captain the City Clerk shall deduct from the salary of each Fireman the sum of One and 50/100 Dollars ($1.50) for each practice said statement of said Chief shows that said Fireman has missed during said month, and the sum of One and 75/100 Dollars ($1.75) from the salary of the Captain for each practice said statement shows he has missed during said month, and shall add to the salary of each of said Fireman and said Captain the sum of One and 50/100 Dollars ($1.50) for each alarm said statement ehows them to have respectively answered during said, month; That said Firemen and said. The Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause this Ordinance to be published once in The National City News, a newspaper printed and published in said City, and of general circulation therein. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in force and take effect on the 31et day after its passage and approval.
