AN ORDINANCE CREATING A PLANNING COMMISSION FOR THE
CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, AND APPOINTING
THE YRS OF SUCH COMMISSION AND FIXING THE COM-
PENSATION OF THE SECRETARY THEREOF.
The Board of Trustees of the City of National City, California,
do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That there be and there is hereby created
a Oity Planning Commission for the City of National City, Calif
ia.
Section 2. said City Planning Commission shall con-
sist of Five members, to be appointed by the President of the
Board of Trustees of said City of National City, by and with
the oonsent of said Board of Trustees, one of which members shall
be a member of said Board of Truetees,, and in addition thereto,
the City Attorney and City Engineer of said city shall be ex-
officio full members of said Commission; and provided further
that the President of said Board of Trustees shall also in add-
ition thereto be an ex-officio member of said Commission without
any right to vote in the deliberations thereof, except in the case
of a tie, when he shall have the right of casting the deciding

Vacancies for any unexpired term shall be filled by
appointment as in the first instance.
Non-residents of the City of National. City shall be
eligible to appointment on said City Planning Commission.
Section 4. The members of said Commission, with the
exception of the Secretary, shall serve without compensation for

their" services; provided, h€rever, that the Secretary of said Com
miesion shall receive ae flzl.l compensation for hie BerriShe
sum of One Dollar ($1.00) per month, which compensation shell be
paid at the same time and in the erase manner as the salaries or
compensations of other City officials is -paid.
Section 5. The members of said City Planning Commiss-
ion shall meet at least once a month at such times and piaoes as
they may fix by resolution. They shall select one of their num•-
ber as president and another as secretary, and both shall serve
for
Aone year and until their successors are appointed. In case of
their absence, the members of the corsraission shall select a
president or secretary pro tem, as the case may be.
Special meetings may be called at any time by the pres-
ident or three members by written notice served upon ea member
of the co 4,,r%saion at least three hours before the time specified
for the proposed meeting.
Your members of the Cornariseion shall constitute a
quorum for the transaction of business.
The Commission shall cause a proper record to be kept
of all of its proceedings.
Section 6. Said City Planning Commmmission shall perform
all of the duties and have all of the powers enumerated in that
certain Act of the Legislature of the State of California en-
titled, *An Act to Provide for the Establishment, Government, and
Maintenance of City Planning Commissions within Municipalities.,
end Prescribing their Powers and Duties*.. Approved May 21, 1915,
and all Acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereof; provided
however, that said City Planning Commmsiseion, in addition to the
powers and duties enumerated above, shall have such powers and
perform such duties as may be required of it by any law of the
State of California now in force or hereinafter enacted; provided
further, that said City Planning Commission shall perform such

City, enacted by the Beard of Trustees of said C1ty, noting with-.

Section 7. This ordinance sha l . take effect anus bs in
force on and after the 318t day after the date of its final pas-
sage and approval,
Section 8. The City Clerk of said O1ty is hereby
authorized and directed to cause this ordinance to be published
once in the National City News,a weekly newspaper published
and of general circulation in said. City of National City.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, by the Board of Trust ees3 of the
City of National City, California, thish„ day of Decemper
