AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 540 OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CAL/FORNIA„
ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCES NOS.
496, 497, 507, 510, 513 AND 537 OF THE CITY OF
NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, AND FIXING THE CoM.
PENSATION AND ITS MODE OF PAYMENT OF CERTAIN
OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY."
The Board of Trustees of the City of Nation
California, do ordain as follows:

ECTION 1. That Section 9 of Ordinance No. 540 entitled
lnanee Repealing Ordinances Nos. 496, 497, 507, 510,
513 and 537 of the City of National City, California, and Fixing
the Compensation and its Mode of Payment of certain Officers and
Employees of said City," be and the same is hereby amended to reed
es follows:
That the City Engineer shall r.ceivo Two Hundred Seventy..
five Dollars ($275.00) par month salary to be paid by warrant drawn
upon the Engineering Fund of said City, exclusive of all compensation
allowed to his Deputies, and upon the appointment by him or a Deputy
or Deputies, they shall be paid not to exeeod Six and 50/100 Dollars•
(46.50) per day for time actually employed by said Deputy or Deputies
in the services of said City; provided that the Board of Trustees
hereby reserves the right by its vote at any time t* limit the
number or alter the compensation of gush Deputies.
That the City Engineer shall keep on file in his.off oe
a record of all his official acts, and shall also keep in his
office the original field notes, estimates, surveys, plats, profiies,
maps and documents made by him in his official capacity relating
to the Improvement of streets, aventlea, lanes, alleys, courts,
parka and plaoes.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause
this Ordinance to be published once in The National City Nee,

a newspaper printed and published in said Ci ty and of genoral
circulation therein.
SECTION 3 This Ordinance shall take effect on t
day after its passage and approval.
