NATIONAL CITY, MD PROVIDING FOR THE, APPOINT T OF EIfPLCYE S THEREOF. The Board of Tz°uateea of the C: do ordain as follows: Section 1. That the Department o City of National City shall consist of OF NATIONAL CITY, C ,LT `©RN A, zbl Health cif the bers of the Board o '�'rustees and a Health Officer who shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees for a period of one year, and who shall serve as such Health Officer until his successor has been appointed. Section 2. Ilion the adoption of this ordinance the Board of Trustee* shall appoint two of its members, to serve until December 318t, 192S, with the present Health Officer of the City of .National City as a board of health and thereafter at its first regular meeting in January of each year, the Board of Trustees shall by order appoint two of its members to serve with the Health off9loer as a Board of Health of the City caf National City, and at the Game meeting shall appoint said health Officer and fix hie compensation. Section 3. Said Board of Hes►1th shall meet for the purpo.oe f trn acting the business of said Board at such times as may be neesar►y, at special meetings called by the Health Officer e to eaoh of the ambers of said Board in writing at ty tour hours prior to said special meetings. on 4. The Board of Health for the City of National �n created, shall exercise all the powers and peztorm duties conferred by General Law upon Boards of Health In the St .te of California, and the Health Officer of the City of National City shall enforce and observe all the ordinances of the Board of Trustees of said City, and all regulations adopted by upon leas all 1. 1.21. the Beard of Health of the City of National C r health and sanitary matters, and all orders, quarantine regulations and rules prescribed by the State Board 6of Health and all statutes pertaining to public health and vital statistical, and the said Board of Health of the City of National City shall prescribe sueh rules and regulations for the conduct of its Department as may be consistent with General Law. Section 5. That the Board of Health herein c the Health Officer are authorized, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees of the City of National City, to enter into agreements with other Health Departments of the state of California and the United States Public Health Service, and said Board of Health and said Health Officer are hereby authorized to cooperate with said United States Public Health Service and with the Public Health Service of any City or County or City and County of this State or of any district thereof whenever in the Judgment of said Board or said Health Officer, the Public Health Service of the City of National City would be best subserved thereby. That in addition to any and all other powers conferred upon said Board of Health and Health Officer they shall have under their supervision and control, the issuance of permits under any and all ordinances adopted by the Board of Trustees relating to Sanitation and Health, and the Plumbing Inspector of the City of National City City, FeedInspector of the City of Nation National City, and an and Dairy Inspector of the City of National the City of National City, Meat Inspector City, Housing Inspector of the City of and all other Sanitary and Health Inspectors appointed under any order or ordinance of the Board of Trustees shall be under the general supervision and control of said Board of Health and Health Officer. Section 6. Section 7. That the ,Eiaelth and sanitary conditions of rapidly growing and populous districts in the incorporated territory within the City of National City require immediate attention and that it is necessary for the preservation of the public pease,, health and safety that this ordinance go into effect immediately upon its publication. Section 8. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 9. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this Ordinance to be published once in The National City News, a news- paper printed and published in said City, and cif general circulation therein.
