AN ORDINANCE RE FROM FIRE!; HYDRA; CALIFORNIA. 579 ATING THE TAKING OF WATER IN THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY The board of Trustees of the City of National City, California, do ordain as follows, to -wit: SECTION 1. That the control and use of all fire hydrants within the corporate limits of the City of da i°nal City is hereby vested in the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of National City. The Chief of s the Fire Department may issue permits for the proper and reasonable use of said fire hydrants to employees of the City of Nation. utility furnishing ity and to the employees of the public er in said City in the diseh*rge of their duties and also to such other persons, firms or corporations as may for any purpose require water for temporary uses or purposes, but all such permits, (except to employees of the City and to the employees of the water company) shall only be issued upon the presentation of satisfactory evidence in writing by the Applicant that such use will be in accordaxme with the rates, rules and relations of the public utility supplying water tee such hydrant and that its use has been first consented to by such public utility Any permit issued pursuant to the provisions of this ordinance shall set forth the name of the person, firm or corporation to whom the same is granted and shall designate the location of the hydrant from which water is to be taken pursuant to such permit and the time when such water may be taken. SECTION 2. it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to take or to cause to be taken any water from any fire hydrant or to open or to cause to be opened any such hydrant or to cause any water to flow therefrom without first obtaining a permit in writing therefor from the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of National City, 131. 3i CTION 3 It shall be un or any person, f corporation to whost any such permit $hall be granted„ to take or to cause to be taken any water from any hydrant, or to open or to cause to be opened;, shy hydrant, or to cause water to flow from any hydrant other than the hydrant designated in such permitt. SECTION 4. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to whom any such permit shall be granted to take, or to cause to be taken, any water freem any hydrant, or to open or cause to be opened, any hydrant or to cause water to flow from any hydrant at any time other than at the time designated in such permit. SECTION 5. That any p sa oon, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of th.e ordinance she be deemed guilty of a misdemmmeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than three hundreed. dollars ($300.OQ) or by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of not more than ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
