AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CM*, CALIFORNIA, CREATING A PLANNING COMMISSION, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO, 559 OF SAID CITY ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE CREATING A PLANNING COMUSSION FOR THE CITY OP NATIONAL CITY, CALIF. ORNIA, AND APPOINTING THE MEMBERS OF SUCH COMmISSION AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE SECRETARY THEREOF." The Board of Truatees of the City of ional City, Calif- ornia, do oedain as follows' Section 1, That Ordinance No. 559 of the City of National City, California, entitled "An Ordinance Creating a Panning Commission for the City of National City, California, and Appointing the Vembers of such Commission and Fixing the Compensation of the Seeretary Thereof", be and the same is hereby repealed. Section 2. A Planning Commission of the City of National City is hereby created to consist of six (6) members, to be appointed by the Chief Executive Officer of the City of National City, twit* the Chairman of the Board of Trustees thereof, with the approval of the Board of Trustees, and to consist of the follow- ing ex.offleio officers, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of said City, the Chief Engineer and the Attorney or Counsel of said Board of Trustees. Seetion 3. Said Planning Commission shall have all of the powers and perform all of the duties provided to be had and per. formed by it by the Statutes of the State of California. Section 4. That of the members of the Commission first appointed, •one shall hold offiee for the term of one (1) year, one for the term of two (2) years, one for the term of three (3) years, one for the term of four (4) years, one for the term of five (5) years, and one for the term of six (6) years, from and after his appointment, and their successors shall be appointed for a term of six (6) years from and after the expiration of the terms 138. of their pvedecessoz tn office; that the terns of the ex. offieio members shall correspond to their respective official tenures. If a vacancy shall occur otherwise than by expiration of •a term, it shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term as in the first instance. Section 5. That said Commission shall elect its Chairman from among the appointed members for a term of one year and subject to the provisions of law may create and fill such other offices as it may determine. Section 8. That said Coxnmisejon shall hold at least one regular meeting in •each month, and shall adopt rules for the transa*tton of tinniness, and shall keep a record of its resolu- tions, transactions, findings and determinations, which record shall be a public record. Section 7. That all members of said Commission atha11 serve without compensation. Section 8. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this Ordinance to be published once in The National City News, a news- paper printed and published in said City and of general simula- tion therein. Section 9.
