The City of National City has been increasingly impacted by the apparent
shortage of on -street parking spaces, which has led to conflicts between
property owners. Although the Westside is now zoned for
industrial/commercial uses, there are still many residential areas
remaining. Residential Permit Parking Districts have been established in
certain areas, but due to increasing demands from the local residents, it
apLpars that the area is leaning toward a Plaster Parking District for the
entire Westside. To help us in implementing the most appropriate
mitigation measures, we are in need of a comprehensive parking study which
will guide us in selecting the most cost effective solutions.
SCOPE OF WORK
This study shall include the following work items as a minimum:
TAS (S
1. An inventory of parking signs and curb markings on all streets in
the study area (see Attachment 1).
2. A full inventory of available on -street and off-street parking.
3. Parking occupancy counts for all streets in the Westside, 6:00
a.m. to 6:00 p.m., average weekday and Saturdays.
4. Aerial photographs and reproducible mylars at a scale of 1 "=100'
for the study area.
