RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF ORDER
TO VACATE AND CLOSE A PORTION OF
PARADISE DRIVE, BETWEEN 12TH STREET
AND 1-805 NORTHBOUND ON -RAMP
CASE FTT.F, NO. SC-3-79
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National City adopted Resolution
No. 15,477 on December 15, 1987, declaring its intention to vacate and close a
portion of Paradise Drive, between 12th Street and I-805 northbound on -ramp rrore
particularly described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein as
though set forth in full, in the City of National City, County of San Diego,
State of California, and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of National City, California, has
caused notice of said vacation and closure to be posted in the manner specified
by law, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of National City, California,
has considered the proposed vacation and closure and has found and determined
that the said, proposed vacation and closure a portion of Paradise Drive,
between 12th Street and I-805 northbound on -ramp is in conformity with the
City's adopted General Plan; and that said portions of public right-of-way are
not useful as a nonmotorized transportation facility, as defined in Section 156
of the Streets and Highways Code of California, and is not needed for present or
prospective public use, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the Planning Commission's report
and recommendation, and the presentation of staff regarding the proposed
vacation and closure, and
WHEREAS, all things and acts necessary to be done as required by Part 3 of
Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California in order
to abandon said street have been done and accomplished, and
WHEREAS, hearings were held on January 12, February 16 and March 15, 1988,
in the City Council Chambers of the City of National City, at which time all
persons interestRd in or objecting to the proposed vacation and closure were
afforded the opportunity to appear and be heard, and
WHEREAS, the City Council at said hearings, found, from all evidence
submitted, that said portions of public right-of-way are unnecessary for present
or prospective public street purposes, and are not useful as a noonuutorized
transportation facility, as defined in Section 156 of the California Streets and
Highways Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council at said hearings further found that vacation and
closure of said portions of public right-of-way is in conformity with the
adopted General Plan; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a certified
copy of subject order to be recorded in the office of the County
Recorder of San Diego County, pursuant to Section 8324, California
Streets and Highways Code.

per Map thereof Number 166 filed in the Office of the County Recorder of San Diego
County, California, May 11, 1869, described as follows:
Commencing at the Southwesterly corner of Hilts of Paradise, per Map Thereof
Number Z860 filed in said County Recorders Office, August 3Z, 1925; Thence South
7Z° 57' 27" West, along the Northerly tine of said 80 Acre Lot 2 a distance of 17.24
feet to a point on the Easterly right-of-way line of Interstate 805; Thence along
said Easterly right -of -ray line, South 40° 55' 55" East, 32.60 feet to the TRUE
POINT OF BEGINNING; Thence continuing South 40° 55' 55" East, 59.88 feet; Thence
South 3Z° 38' 5Z" East, 46.67 feet; Thence leaving said Eastery right-of-way line,
North Z7° 43' 57" West, 100.64 feet; Thence South 7Z° 57' 27" West, 34.48 feet to
the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
