Enclosed are proposed revisions of Civil Service Rules which were recommended
to the Council for adoption by the Civil Service Commission at their meeting on
December 11, 1987. The proposed revisions will be placed on the Council
agenda for the meeting of January 5, 1988. I am sending them to you at this
time so that you will have additional time for review prior to the meeting.
The proposed revisions were approved unanimously by the Commission. All
employee organizations were given the opportunity to discuss and recommend
modifications in these proposals. No employee organization has indicated
opposition to any of the proposed changes. The Municipal Employees'
Association participated extensively in the review process.
I recommend approval of these amendments. Please contact me if you have any
questions.
