HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 15,592RESOLUTION NO. 15,592 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY SUPPORTING THE CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE, COASTAL AND PARK LAND CONSERVATION ACT OF 1988 WHEREAS, a statewide coalition of civic and conservation groups and businesses has formed as Californians for Parks and Wildlife to seek qualification and voter approval of the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Initiative on the June, 1988 state ballot. WHEREAS, this initiative would provide $776 million statewide to protect wildlife habitat, park lands and coastal areas and to provide recreational opportunities for the benefit of present and future generations of Californians; and WHEREAS, the City Council of National City finds that these lands are a vital and necessary part of our community and help to preserve the quality of life in the City of National City; and WHEREAS, these lands are an essential and irreplacable part of our State's unique natural heritage and must be preserved; and WHEREAS, the City of National City will receive $190,000 from the passage of the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Conservation Act; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of National City, California, do hereby support the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Conservation Act of 1988.
