CITY CLERK RESOLUTION NO. 15,618 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY comm OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY DENYING EXEMPTION OR DEFERRAL OF INSTALLATION OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 13.22 of the National City Municipal Code, George D. Hood and Victoria M. Hood are required to install certain street improvements as a condition of obtaining a building permit to perform remodeling work on their residence at 1521 East 22nd Street, at a cost of approximately $31,000; and WHEREAS, said street improvements include removal and replacement of existing deteriorated curb and gutter in front of the subject property, at a cost of approximately $1800; and WHEREAS, George D. Hood and Victoria M. Hood have requested an exemption or deferral from the required street improvements, in accordance with Chapter 13.22 of the Municipal Code, and the City Council at their meeting of May 3, 1988, has considered their request, the documentation supporting their request, and the staff report and recommendation of the Engineering Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City that the requested deferral or exemption is denied for the following reasons: 1) A public project or assessment district is not an appropriate method of securing the required improvements since there is an immediate need to replace existing deteriorated improvements, and because the cost of installing the improvements is approximately $1800, which cost is not excessive when compared to the cost of approximately $31,000 to accomplish the remodeling work on the subject property. 2) Requiring the improvements to be installed is in the public interest in that the existing improvements are dilapidated, and installation of said improvements is not incompatible with neighborhood design. PASSED and ADOraID this 17th day of May, 1988. ATTEST: Ione Campbell, City Clerk APPROVED AS TO FORM: /34w 3,g4"‹.2zc George H. aters, Mayor -57%8 George H. Eiser, III - City Attorney
