RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NATIONAL CITY GRANTING DEFERRAL OF INSTALLATION
OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 13.22 of the National City Municipal
Code, George D. Hood and Victoria M. Hood ("Owners") are required to
install certain street improvements as a condition of obtaining a building
permit to perform remodeling work on their residence
Street, at a cost of approximately S31,000; and
WHEREAS, said street improvements include removal and replacement
of existing deteriorated curb and gutter in front of the subject property,
at a cost of approximately S18U0; and
WHEREAS, George D. Hood and Victoria M. Hood have requested an
exemption or deferral from the required street improvements, in accordance
with Chapter 13.22 of the Municipal Code, and the City Council at their
meeting of May 3, 1988, has considered their request, the documentation
supporting their request. and the staff report and recommendation of the
Engineering Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council

consider adoption of an expansion of its current 50/50 sidewalk program to
include curb and gutter construction. This program will continue to be
applied city-wide within current zoning restrictions.
2) If the City expands the 50/50 sidewalk program to include curb
and gutter construction, Owners will pay half the cost of new curb, gutter
and sidewalk construction along their frontage. Estimated 5U percent
participation will be $900.00. If the 50/50 program is not expanded to
include curb and gutter construction Owners will pay half the cost of
sidewalk construction only.
3) Owners shall execute a covenant running with the land agreeing
to install street improvements as set forth above.
