HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 15,628RESOLUTION NO. 15,628 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXTENSION OF CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN RED CROSS FOR OPERATION OF NATIONAL CITY WHEELS, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO SAID AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the City previously entered into an agreement with the American Red Cross for operation of National City Wheels on June 23, 1986, and WHEREAS, the City desires to exercise its option to extend the agreement for a period of one year; and WHEREAS, the parties to said agreement desire to amend certain provisions of the agreement; and WHEREAS, no City funds are expended to operate National City Wheels. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City that 1. The amendment to agreement shall become effective on July 1, 1988. 2. Contractor shall continue uninterrupted performance into and through the period July 1, 1988 through June 30, 1989. 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an amendment to agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A". PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of June, 1988. GEORGEH. Eiser III - City Attorney Iria American Red Cross @ISA COORDINATED TRANSPORTATION SERVICE AGENCY AMENDMENT # 1 TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AND THE AMERICAN RED CROSS SAN DIEGO /IMPERIAL COUNTIES CHAPTER This AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT made this _ day of , 1988 by and between the City of National City, hereinafter called "CITY" and the American Red Cross San Diego / Imperial Counties Chapter, hereinafter called "CONTRACTOR" WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, CITY and CONTRACTOR previously entered into the "AGREEMENT BETWEEN the CITY OF NATIONAL CITY and AMERICAN RED CROSS SAN DIEGO /IMPERIAL COUNTIES CHAPTER FOR PARATRANSIT SERVICE" on June 23, 1986; and WHEREAS, CITY desires to exercise its option to extend the service provided by CONTRACTOR under said Agreement for a period of one year; and WHEREAS, CITY and CONTRACTOR have negotiated compensation for services during this option year, NOW, THEREFORE, it is agreed as follows: 1. This Amendment shall become effective on July 1, 1988. 2. CONTRACTOR shall continue uninterrupted performance of work into and through the period of July 1, 1988 through June 30, 1989. 3. Sections 2.B.12.., 2.C.1.a., 5.A., and 5.B. are amended to read as follows: ESEQTIQN_21 STATEMENT QF WQRR B. Additional Responsibilities of Contractor 12. The hours of operation of the service shall be 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for the following holidays: July 4th, Labor Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, President's Day, and Memorial Day. 3650 Fifth Avenue • San Diego, California 92103 • (619)291-2620 EXHIBIT A C. Vehicles 1. Regular Paratransit Service a. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for providing one (1) vehicle of the following type (with exceptions granted by CITY after mutual CONTRACTOR and CITY concurrence): One vehicle equipped with a wheelchair lift, a minimum of five (5) tiedown stations, as well as capacity for at least six (6) other passengers. §SEcTION_5L PAYMENT A. CITY agrees to pay CONTRACTOR $22.70 for each vehicle service hour which is provided for under the conditions of the Agreement from July 1, 1988 to June 30, 1989. CITY and CONTRACTOR agree that total costs to be paid by CITY for the term of this Amendment are limited to a minimum of $53,102.00 B. CITY is estimating that 2,340 vehicle service hours will be provided by the CONTRACTOR during the contract period July 1, 1988 to June 30, 1989. It should be noted that this hourly figure is only an estimate and that the actual number of vehicle hours provided may differ from estimate. ALL OTHER TERMS and CONDITIONS of the Agreement of June 23, 1986 remain in full force and effect.
