RESOLUTION NO.15644
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NATIONAL CITY DENYING ETION OF INSTALLATION
OF S'ri i 1' IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 13.22 of the National City Municipal
Code, James Martinez and Vickie Martinez are required to install certain
street improvements as a condition of obtaining a building permit to
perform remodeling work on their residence at 618 F Avenue, at a cost of
approximately $8,000; and
WHEREAS, said street improvements include removal and replacement
of existing deteriorated curb in front of the subject property, at a cost
of approximately $750.00; and
WHEREAS, James Martinez and Vickie Martinez have requested an
exemption from the required street improvements, in accordance with Chapter
13.22 of the Municipal Code, and the City Council at their meeting of June
14, 1988, has considered their request, the documentation supporting their
request, and the staff report and recommendation of the Engineering
Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
National City that the requested exemption is denied for the following
reasons:
1) There is an immediate need to replace existing deteriorated
improvements, and the cost of installing improvements approximately
$750.00, which cost is not excessive when compared to the cost of
approximately $8000.00 to accomplish the remodeling work on the subject
property.
2) Requiring the improvements to be installed is in the public
interest in that the existing improvements are dilapidated, and
installation of said improvements is not incompatible with neighborhood
design.
