HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 15,695RESOLUTION NO. .1 5,695 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, STATING THE INTENTION TO AMEND THE MERGER PROVISIONS AND REQUIREMENTS OF TITLE 17 (SUBDIVISIONS) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, Title 17 (Subdivisions) of the National City Municipal Code includes requirements for the merger of contiguous parcels or units of land, and said requirements were in existence prior to January 1, 1984; and WHEREAS, State law requires that prior to amendment of said requirements in order to bring them into compliance with State law, the City Council shall adopt a resolution of intention to amend said requirements, and the City Clerk shall cause notice of adoption of the resolution to be published in the manner prescribed by Section 6061 of the Government Code, and that the amended ordinance be adopted not less than 30 days after ccmpletion of the required publication; and, WHEREAS, the amendment of said requirements for merger of contiguous parcels is necessary for compliance with State law; and WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on the proposed amendment to Title 17 (Subdivisions) of the Municipal Code, including amendment of said requirements for the merger of contiguous parcels; and WHEREAS, at Said public hearing, the City Council considered the entire contents of case file nos. A-6-87 and IS-87-32, which are maintained by the City and ineorpvrated herein by reference; and WHEREAS, this action is taken pursuant to all applicable procedures required by State law and City ordinanceq; and, WHEREAS, the action hereby taken is found to be essential for the preservation of the public health, Gafety and general welfare. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council intends to adopt an ordinance which amends requirements for the merger of contiguous parcels or units of land, in order to bring them into compliance with State law. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause notice of the adoption of this resolution to be published in the manner prescribed by Section 6061 of the State Government Ccz3e.
