HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988 CC RESO 15,799RESOLUTION NO. 15,799" RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY SUPPORTING THE REQUEST FOR THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS TO THE SECOND HARBOR ENTRANCE PROJECT, INC. FROM THE SAN DIEGO UNIFIED PORT DISTRICT FOR FEASIBILITY STUDIES WHEREAS, the City of National City, its citizens and its economy, will benefit substantially from the creation of a second harbor entrance into San Diego Bay, and WHEREAS, the Second Harbor Entrance Project, Inc., is conducting a series of studies to determine the engineering and environmental feasibility of such a channel entrance, with said feasibility to be determined no later than December of 1989, and WHEREAS, significant funds will be required to complete the necessary studies within the time allotted and such funds are being contributed by several municipalities, as well as the private sector and other governmental entities, and WHEREAS, the Second Harbor Entrance Project, Inc. is requesting that the Board of Commissioners of the San Diego Unified Port District appropriate funds in partial support of these studies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of National City lend its support to this request for funds and urges the Commissioners of the San Diego Unified Port District to give this study effort all possible consideration.
