HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 15,370RESOLUTION NO. 15,37C RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY APPROVING THE RETENTION Cr DELOITTE, HASKINS & SELLS IO PROVIDE CONTINUED FINANCIAL CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE PROPOSED POLICE FACILITY BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City that the City Council does hereby approve the retention of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells to provide the following continued financial consulting services, at a cost not to exceed $2,000, for the proposed police facility: 1) A review of the design characteristics to identify potential life cycle cost reductions. 2) Identification of cost savings suggestions for the City staff to consider and discuss with the developers and financial team; and 3) Examination of cost savings methods proposed by the developers. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into any and all agreements necessary to retain such services. PASSED and ADOPTED this 28th day of July, 1987. George W. McCabe City Manager City of National City 1243 National City Blvd. National City, California 92050 Dear Tom: Suite 1900 701 "B" Street San Diego, California 92101-8198 (619) 232-6500 ITT Telex: 4995722 July 21, 1987 Deloitte Haskins & Sells (DH&S) acknowledges your City Council's action on July 7, 1987 to hire our firm to serve as financial consultant for the review of the Starboard Police Facility proposal on the City's behalf. The action taken at the July 7 meeting recommended the retention of DH&S for completion of two tasks at_.a cost not to exceed $3,500. The two tasks included: #1 Confirmation that the selected financing structure is the most appropriate to accomplish the projects, and #2 Analysis and recommendation on how to best use available cash resources (currently available $1.2 million). On July 16, 1987 DH&S completed the work outlined in task #1 above, by submitting a 3 page letter of review and recommendations. Another report will be submitted regarding task #2 immediately following the completion of financing schedules by E.F. Hutton & Co. Pursuant to further discussion with City staff, we estimate an additional 20 hours of our financial expertise is requested for this project. The proposed additional work is to include: o A review of the design characteristics to identify potential life cycle cost reductions; o Identification of cost savings suggestions for the City staff to consider and discuss with the developers and financial team; and o Examination of cost savings methods proposed by the developers.
