HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 14,960RESOLUTION N0. 14,960 RESOLUTION DESIGNATING PREFERENTIAL PERMIT PARKING AREA "D" AND "E" ESTABLISHING PROHIBITED PARKING AND AUTHORIZING PERMITS AND POSTING OF SIGNS WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore established a Preferential Parking Program by Resolution No. 14,356; and WHEREAS, the Council by Resolution No. 14,357 adopted a Policy for regulating said Program; and WHEREAS, the City Council has previously designated Residential Permit Parking Areas A, B and C; and WHEREAS, there exists an urgent need for preferential parking in an additional location in the City; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has caused to have studies and surveys made and a report prepared concerning said additional location, and has presented said Report to the City Council with discussion and recommendation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the aforesaid urgeny requires waiver of the customary public hearing procedures set forth in Sections 4 and 5 of the Policy, but that all other Sections of the Policy shall apply. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that the boundaries of Preferential Permit Parking Area "D" and "E" be established as per the attached map, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that parking be prohibited for all vehicles between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for those vehicles displaying either an Area "D" or "E" preferential parking permit or a handicapped license plate or placard. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized and directed to issue, upon written application therefore, a parking permit, as per Section 6 of aforesaid Preferential Permit Parking Program Policy. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized and directed to post appropriate signs indicating the Preferential Permit 1 rking Area.
