RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF
SPEED LIMIT WARNING SIGNS ON SOUTHBAY FREEWAY
TO INCREASE ROAD SAFETY, AND
REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 14,587
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City,
California, that the public health, safety and welfare will best be protected by
the installation of the following signs on the South Bay Freeway to warn
motorists of the 35 m.p.h. speed limit and to increase road safety:
1. "Reduced Speed Ahead" sign on eastbound South Bay Freeway,
west of our jurisdiction and on westbound South Bay Freeway
east of our jurisdiction, and
2. "Resume Normal Speed" signs on South Bay Freeway at the
eastern and western jurisdiction limits, and
3. "35 m.p.h." signs for east and west bound traffic, on either
side of the Reo Drive intersection.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall not become
effective until the signs are installed in the areas designated above.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 14,587 is hereby
repealed.
