RESOLUTION COMMENDING TOM HAMILTON FOR
OUTSTANDING SERVICE AS SUPERVISOR OF THE
FIRST DISTRICT OF THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO
WHEREAS, TOM HAMILTON was elected Supervisor of
the First District of the County of San Diego and served in
that capacity for 8 years, and
WHEREAS, he has worked diligently on behalf of
National City, the South Bay, and the entire county, and
WHEREAS, in particular, SUPERVISOR HAMILTON sup-
ported National City when the matter of the May Company Shop-
ping Center came before the Board of Supervisors, and
WHEREAS, TOM HAMILTON accepted his responsibilities
as Supervisor in a most constructive manner by being the first
representative of the South Bay cities to put in streets,
curbs and sidewalks in Lincoln Acres and the Montgomery area,
both under the jurisdiction of the county, and
WHEREAS, he was the supporting force behind the
scene when the matter of a second border entrance was first
introduced and which is now nearing completion, and
WHEREAS, he contributed significantly towards the
success of expanding the court services in the South Bay which
led to the location of the South Bay Regional Court Center in
our area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of National City that TOM HAMILTON is hereby recog-
nized as a respected leader of the First District communities
and for his outstanding service and dedication to the needs of
people in these communities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of January, 1985.
