HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 14,533RESOLUTION NO. 14,533 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY APPOINTING GEORGE H. EISER III TO THE OFFICE OF CITY ATTORNEY WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted an extensive and thorough review of applicants to fill the vacancy in the Office of the City Attorney, and has determined that Goerge H. Eiser III, Assistant City Attorney in the City of Modesto, California, is the best qualified to fill said Office. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City as follows: SECTION 1. George H. Eiser III is hereby appointed to the position of City Attorney for the City of National City, and is concurrently appointed to the positions of legal advisor to the Community Development Commission and legal advisor to the Parking Authority and Housing Authority for the City of National City. SECTION 2. In consideration of Mr. Eiser's acceptance of the appointments made hereinabove, the Council adopts the following employment terms and conditions: A. Commencement of Employment. March 4, 1985 is hereby designated as the date of commencement of Mr. Eiser's duties to serve as City Attorney, legal advisor to the Community Development Commission, and legal advisor to the Parking Authority and Housing Authority. B. Salary (i) The initial base salary to be paid Mr. Eiser for his services as City Attorney and legal advisor to the Housing Authority shall be Fifty-one Thousand Three Hundred Sixty Dollars($51,360.00) annually, payable in accordance with City's customary payroll practices. The initial base salary to be paid to Mr. Eiser for his services as legal advisor to the Community Development Commission and legal advisor to the Parking Authority shall be Twenty-four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00) annually, payable in accordance with City's customary payroll practices. Regular salary reviews thereafter shall be conducted by the Council, in accordance with usual policy for Council - appointed officers. (ii) In addition to base salary, Mr. Eiser shall receive such other benefits as are provided in this resolution, and such other benefits as may be provided to Council -appointed officers of the City, including holidays, vacation leave, executive leave, sick leave, and insurance and retirement benefits. C. Professional Development. The Council recognizes the need for and advantages of continued professional development on the part of its staff and therefore shall budget funds for travel subsistence expenses for meetings of the League of California Cities City Attorney's Department, and other professional meetings, educational courses and seminars given within California and directly related to municipal law. D. Relocation Expenses. To assist Mr. Eiser in the costs incurred in moving to National City from Modesto, National City agrees to reimburse him for the expenses of transporting household ! goods, up to a maximum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00).; PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 22nd day of January, 985.
