HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 14,581RESOLUTION NO. 14,581 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AND THE CITY OF CORONADO FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING COMPRESSED BREATHING AIR WHEREAS, the Fire Chief of the City of National City has been requested by the City of Coronado Fire Department to provide compressed breathing air. WHEREAS, an agreement has been negotiated for the City of National City Fire Department to provide compressed breathing air to the City of Coronado Fire Department according to the terms set forth in the agreement. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City, California, does hereby authorize the City Manager to execute said agreement. PASSED and ADOPTED this 26th day of March, 1985. ATTEST: • "AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE COMPRESSED BREATHING A1R" The National City Fire Department (NCFD) agrees to provide breathing air to the Coronado Fire Department (CFD) under the following terms and conditions: l 1. Breathing air is to be supplied in accordance with all safety requirements and c recommendations of Cal OSHA and other regulatory agencies. 2. The CFD shall provide current hydrostatically tested "K" bottles into which air will be transfered by NCFD personneL 3. The CFD shall deliver and pick-up "K" bottles to the NCFD in the amounts and at the times and intervals established by the respective Fire Chiefs. 4. The CFD shall furnish for installation at NCFD a "K" bottle "blast deflector" as recommended by Cal OSHA (and installation hardware) to provide a measure of safety from explosion hazard to NCFD personnel. This equipment shall remain the property of CFD. 5. NCFD personnel shall fill the "K" bottles provided by CFD in accordance with the attached schedule and make bottles available for pick-up at NCFD. 6. It is understood that "K" bottles will be provided and filled on a rotational basis. i.e. CFD will deliver at least one "K" bottle and pick-up a filled one in the same trip. - 7. It is also understood that CFD may occasionally need additional "K" bottles filled depending upon emergency usage within that Department. 8. It is further agreed that CFD will pay to the City of National City the sum of $100 annually for providing this service. This fee shall be reviewed annually by the two Fire Chiefs. 9. This agreement is to commence upon execution by all parties. 10. It is further agreed that the City of Coronado will indemnify and hold harmless the City of National City and its officers and employees from any liability or loss arising out of the performance of this agreement. 11.
