RESOLUTION NO. 14,830
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NATIONAL CITY CALIFORNIA,
DENYING AN APPLICATION FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
TO ALLOW THE OPERATION OF A DRIVE-THRU AUTOMOTIVE
LUBRICATION BUSINESS ON A 22,418 SQUARE FOOT
PARCEL LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF
PLAZA BOULEVARD, BETWEEN HARBISON AND
OLIVE AVENUES.
(APPLICANT: BLAIR DAHL FOR ARCTIC CIRCLE)
CASE FILE NO. CUP 1985-17.
The City Council of the City of National City. California, resolves as
WHEREAS, this action is taken pursuant to all applicable procedures
required by State and City law; and,
WHEREAS, the entire con ents of Case File No. 1985-17. maintained by the
City. are attached to and made part hereof, by reference; and,
WHEREAS, the action recited herein is found to be essential for the
preservation of public health, safety and general welfare; and.
WHEREAS, testimony and evidence presented to the City Council at a
properly noticed public hearing failed to support a finding that the proposed use is
deemed essential and desirable to the public convenience and welfare.
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED THAT this application is denied for
the following reasons:
1) The proposed use is not deemed essential and desirable to the public
convenience and welfare.
2) Proximity of this development to existing residential;
3) Adjacent vacant properties to the northeast are proposed for residential
development;
4) The integrity and quality of the neighborhood commercial and
residential environment would be jeopardized by this type of
development, which has a regional service area and is not functionally
related to surrounding properties.
