HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 14,410RESOLUTION NO. 14,410 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO PROCURE ONE ELGIN PELICAN MODEL HH STREET SWEEPER WHEREAS, the City of National City is in need of one three wheel, high dump, 3 cubic yard street sweeper and sufficient funds are available for same,and WHEREAS, the Elgin Pelican Sweeper Model HH is the only unit currently manufactured which meets all the City's equipment and performance specifications and possesses an acceptable proven maintenance and operational record, and WHEREAS, the City of Los Angeles recently awarded a competitive formal bid, in compliance with Sections 2.60.110 through 2.60.200 of the National City Municipal Code, for purchase of 25 Elgin Pelican Sweepers Model HH to Haaker Equipment Company, and WHEREAS, the vendor has agreed to extend the City of Los Angeles bid price to National City upon condition of an additional service charge, and WHEREAS, this service charge is reasonable and proper in light of the increased costs involved for the vendor to fully extend and support ALL terms and conditions of the Los Angeles bid to a single entity, and WHEREAS, these terms and conditions are highly desirable and include full training for operators and mechanics; mileage costs; delivery, parts, service, repair and performance guarantees; and a full warranty for 2 years or 24,000 miles, etc. and WHEREAS, substantial savings and a quicker delivery will be realized by purchasing said equipment from Haaker Equipment Company under this Add - On arrangement as compared to the pricing obtainable in a seperate formal bid process for one vehicle; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section 2.60.110 of the National City Municipal Ordinance, formal bidding is determined to be impractical and not in the public interest. The Council shall therefore waive National City's formal bid requirements and pursuant to Section 2.60.260 Cooperative Procurement, the Purchasing Agent shall be authorized to procure one Elgin Pelican Model HH Street Sweeper for $66,500.
