RESOLUTION NO. 14,450 RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT CALTRANS INCLUDE IN THEIR STATEWIDE PLANNING PROGRAM A STUDY TO EXTEND SR 125 FROM THE SECOND BORDER CROSSING TO SR 94 WHEREAS, the Federal Surface Transportation Assistance Act of 1982 (the Act) was passed by Congress; and WHEREAS, the Act levies an additional tax of five cents per gallon of automotive gas and diesel fuel; and WHEREAS, the Act will increase truck fees from the present $240 per year to $1,900 per year by July 1, 1988; and WHEREAS, the increased revenues from the Act are earmarked for Interstate Highway Construction, Interstate Highway Rehabilitation, Federal Aid Primary Construction and Rehabilitation (State Highways) and Bridge Replacement and Restoration; and WHEREAS, there is a need to study the access to the existing truck crossing in San Ysidro; and WHEREAS, CALTRANS is currently preparing its listing of projects requiring study; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby requests that CALTRANS include in their statewide planning program a study of the access to the existing truck crossing between Mexico and the United States located in San Ysidro including an analysis of the extention of State Route 125 from the Second Border Crossing at Otay Mesa to State Route 94. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that CALTRANS include in the study the possibility of Federal Interstate Funding for improvements to the truck crossing. PASSED and ADOPTED this 9th day of October, 1984.
