HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 14,047RESOLUTION NO. 14,047 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA SUPPORTING AN ALLOCATION OF LOW COST HYDROELECTRIC POWER FROM THE HOOVER DAM TO THE SAN DIEGO AREA WHEREAS, the Hoover Dam, was built with federal tax dollars; and r^ WHEREAS, the San Diego area should have access to low cost hydroelectric power produced there equal to other areas; and WHEREAS, the Western Area Power Administration is responsible for allocating power from federal facilities; and WHEREAS, the Western Area Power Administration gives preference to nonprofit and public entities; and WHEREAS, Assemblyman Larry Stirling is attempting to obtain an allocation of low cost hydro- electric power from the Hoover Dam by forming a joint powers agency or using an existing public entity. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City, California as follows: 1. The City of National City strongly supports the efforts of Assemblyman Larry Stirling to obtain an allocation of low cost hydroelectric power from the Hoover Dam for the San Diego area. 2. The Western Area Power Administration is strongly urged to make an allocation of low cost hydro- electric power to the San Diego area through a joint powers agency or an existing public entity.
