HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 14,113fl ra- RESOLUTION NO. 14,113 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDS UNDER THE EMERGENCY JOBS ACT, LSCA TITLE II BY THE NATIONAL CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR LIBRARY REMODELING WHEREAS, the California State Library has been allocated funds under the Emergency Jobs Act for disbursement to public libraries under the LSCA Title II; and WHEREAS, the National City Public Library qualifies under the Act to apply for these funds; and WHEREAS, procedures established by the California State Library require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of applications prior to submission of said applications to the State Librarian; and WHEREAS, said applications contain a certification that the applicant will comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, public health, relocation, affirmative action, and clearinghouse requirements and all other appropriate codes, laws and regulations prior to the expenditure of the grant funds; and WHEREAS, the project(s) applied for under this program are of a high priority to provide service to the handicapped of the city; and WHEREAS, the project(s) applied for are in conformance with the planning document of the National City Public Library, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City, California, hereby: 1. Approves the filing of an application for funding under LSCA Title II; and 2. Certifies that said agency understands the general provisions of the agreement; and 3. Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project(s) funded under the program; and 4. Certifies that said agency has or will have available prior to commencement of any work on the project(s) included in this application matching money from a local funding source; and 5. Appoints the City Librarian as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations and execute and submit all documents, and to act as liaison with the Architect in the design and execution of the plans. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of August, 1983. ATTEST: peomme
