HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 14,119gamma RESOLUTION NO. 14,119 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 1983, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY A MEASURE RELATING TO STREET LIGHTING AND CONSOLIDATING SAID ELECTION WITH THE 1983 STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE OF ELECTION WHEREAS, a statewide general election shall be held on November 8, 1983, in the State of California, County of San Diego, City of National City, California,and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National City, also desires to submit to the qualified electors of said City at said election the question, proposition or measure relating to street lighting hereinafter set forth; and consolidating said election with the 1983 statewide general election to be held November 8, 1983, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVED, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That said City Council does hereby call and order, held in the City of National City, California, on Tuesday, November 8, 1983, a special election and requests consolidation of said election with the 1983 statewide general election to be held on said day. SECTION 2. That said City Council, pursuant to its right and authority so to do, does hereby determine that there shall be and there is hereby ordered submitted to the qualified electors of said City at said special municipal election the following question, to wit: Shall the City Council change its present residential street YES lighting policy to provide one residential street light every 300 feet and additional street : NO �• 4., h.,. lights as the Council determines for special conditions, and assess the increased cost of residential street lighting upon all property owners in National City? A punched hole placed in the voting square after the word "YES" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted in favor of the adoption of the question or proposition. A punched hold placed in the voting square after the word "NO" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted against the adoption of the question or proposition. SECTION 3. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 4. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. SECTION 6. That this resolution shall take effect immediately. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of August, 1983. ATTEST: CITY CLE
