RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASING AGENT TO PURCHASE BOOK SECURITY
SYSTEM AND LIBRARY CARPETING ON THE OPEN MARKET
The Board of Library Trustees has approved the closing of the
National City Public Library from 12 December through 26 December
1983 for the purpose of installing new carpeting and a book loss
detection system, and
Whereas the detailed methods and requirements for subject redeco-
rating have only recently become known, and
Whereas the public interest would be best served by meeting the
Library's operational requirements and permitting competitive bidding
to occur within appropriate time periods.
Now therefore be it resolved per Section 2.60.180B of the
Municipal Code that the City Council waive the formal bid requirements
and authorize the Purchasing Agent to purchase services and equipment
- a Book Security System and Carpeting - pursuant to the open market
procedure as defined in Section 2.60.210 of the Municipal Code.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of November, 1983.
