HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 13,862RESOLUTION NO. 13,862 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL ELECTIO TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBE 82, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALI ED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY A MEASURE RELATING TO THE NATIONAL CITY DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, IN- CLUDING REDEVELOPMENT AT 8TH STREET AND NATIONAL CITY BOULEVARD AND CONSOLIDATING SAID ELECTION WITH THE 1982 STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE OF ELECTION. WHEREAS, a statewide general election shall be held 2- on November 4, 1982, in the State of California, County of San Diego, City of National City, California, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National City also desires to submit to the qualified electors of said City at said election the question, proposition or measure re- lating to the National City downtown redevelopment project, in- cluding redevelopment at 8th Street and National City Boulevard, hereinafter set forth; and consolidating said election with the 1982 statewide general election to be held November 8, 1982. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That said City Council does hereby call and order, held in the City of National City, California on Tuesday, November 1982, a special election and requests consolidation of said election with the 1982 statewide general election to be held on said day. SECTION 2. That said City Council, pursuant to its right and authority so to do, does hereby determine that there shall be and there is hereby ordered submitted to the qualified electors of said City at said special municipal election the following question, to wit: Shall the city proceed with its National : City downtown redevelopment project in- cluding redevelopment at 8th Street and . National City Boulevard? YES NO L. A punched hole placed in the voting square after the word "YES" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted in favor of the adoption of the question or proposition. A punched hole placed in the voting square after the word "NO" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted against the adoption of the question or proposition. SECTION 3. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 4. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. SECTION 6. That this resolution shall take effect immediately. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of August, 1982.
