HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 13,937RESOLUTION NO. 13,937 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH NOLTE AND ASSOCIATES BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City, California, that the City Engineer is hereby authorized to execute an agreement between the City of National City and G.S. Nolte and Associates for engineering services for the design of Euclid Avenue from Plaza Boulevard to 16th Street for a lump sum fee not -to -exceed $25,000. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of December, 1982. ATTEST: Contract for Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Cost Estimates for Euclid Avenue from Plaza Boulevard to 16th Street in National City. For the lump sum of $25,000, Nolte Engineering & Associates agrees to perform the following work for the City of National City. A. Prepare construction drawings as required to complete design of Euclid Ave- nue from Plaza Blvd. to 16th Street, of Orange Street from 13th to 14th Street, and two cul-de-sacs at East and West side of 13th Street. B. Prepare traffic signal drawings for the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Plaza Boulevard. C. Prepare landscape plans for exposed cuts and fills (fencing plan to be in- cluded as part of your submittal package.) D. Prepare hydraulic calculations of on -site and off -site drainage. E. Prepare Engineer's Estimate. F. Prepare Specifications (Special Provisions Only). G, Do field work as required. City's topo drawing should be used as a back- ground for plan. Do horizontal control and calculations. H. Designof retaining walls. I. Prepare Soils Report to justify Bearing Pressure of Retaining Walls, Steep- ness of Cut Slopes (2:1 Min.), and Structural Road Section. The following assumptionsare made regarding the subject proposal: 1. Existing Improvement Plans can be used for guidance. 2. Field work (horizontal control) does not include monumentation,.but does include -the setting of temporary points to aid future construction. 3. Miscellaneous Expenses, such as blueprints, etc., are included in the Pro- posal and no additionalcharges will be paid. 4. A/Engineer to contact utility companies, incorporate their facilities in the plans, and compute any costs, if applicable. 5. The following is a binding schedule of Design Phase & Payment Schedule: a,. Four weeks from. award of A/E Contract (20% Completion). Submittal of Preliminary Plan & Profile of Euclid Avenue & Orange Street. b. One week for review by City." c. Ten weeks from award of A/E Contract (70% Completion); Resubmit Plans & Profiles incorporating City's Comments, complete soils report, submit landscape plans, retaining walls, box culvert details, complete required field work, traffic signal & striping dwgs. d. Two weeks for review by City. e. Fifteen weeks from award of A/E Contract (90% Completion); Incorpor- ate City's. Comments & complete final plans; Prepare Special Provisions and Cost Estimates. f. Two weeks for review by City. g. Nineteen weeks from award of A/E Contract (100% Completion); Finalize plans, specs. and cost estimates. Signature of Acceptance by G.S.
