HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 13,799RESOLUTION NO. 13,799 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE DELAY OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEW RESIDENTIAL ENERGY REGULATIONS BY THE STATE ENERGY COMMISSION FROM JULY 13, 1982 TO JULY 13, 1984 WHEREAS, the current high interest rate structure coupled with the cumulative effects of inflation have severely impacted negatively on the home building industry of California, and WHEREAS, these factors have combined to substantially increase the cost of housing at home seekers are already priced and a time when many California out of the housing market, WHEREAS, the Energy Building Regulations for new residential buildings adopted by the California Energy Commission are scheduled to go into effect on July 13, 1982, and WHEREAS, these new regulations will add substan- tially to the cost of residential construction, and WHEREAS, the implementation of the new energy standards will impose additional manpower requirements to cities and will result in increased costs to cities at a time when cities are faced with substantial fiscal con- straints; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of National City supports legislative efforts to postpone the effective date of implementation of the new energy regulations for July 13, 1982 to July 13, 1984; and BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be forwarded to our State Senator and State Assemblyman PASSED AND ADOPTED this llth day of May, 1982.
