HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 13,810RESOLUTION NO, 13,810 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, OPPOSING THE NEW RESIDENTIAL ENERGY REGULATIONS BY THE STATE ENERGY COMMISSION WHEREAS, the current high interest rate struc- ture coupled with the cumulative effects of inflation have severely impacted negatively on the home building industry of California, and WHEREAS, these factors have combined to sub- stantially increase the cost of housing at a time when many California home seekers are already priced out of the housing market, and WHEREAS, the Energy Building Regulations for new residential buildings adopted by the California Energy Commission are scheduled to go into effect on July 13, 1g82, and WHEREAS, these new regulations will add sub- stantially to the cost of residential construction; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be forwarded to our State Senator and State Assemblyman. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we oppose any legislation concerning energy regulations for any residential building. ATTEST; PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of May, 1982. CITY CLERK
