A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA MAKING A
COMMITMENT TO IMPLEMENT ADOPTED REVISED
REGIONAL AIR STRATEGY TRANSPORTATION
TACTIC T-5, EXPANDED TRANSIT AS SET FORTH
HEREIN
WHEREAS, air pollution is a major threat
to the health and well-being of the residents of the
San Diego Region; and
WHEREAS, the Revised Regional Air Quality
Strategy was prepared and adopted in October, 1978,
by the Comprehensive Planning Organization and Air
Pollution Control Board as the plan to meet the
requirements of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1977;
and
WHEREAS, Tactic T-5, Expanded Transit, is
a key transportation control measure for cleaning
the air in the San Diego Region; and
WHEREAS, staffs of fixed route transit
operators have agreed to allocations of increased
transit service needed to meet ridership target, of
51 million revenue passengers
WHEREAS, additional

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that
subject to funding availability, the City of National
City as the operator of National City Transit, does
hereby commit to expanding transit service to meet
the District's Revised Regional Air Quality Strategy
target of 709,000 revenue passengers per year by
1985; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that subject to
funding availability, the City of National City does
hereby commit to annually and incrementally expand
transit service between now and 1985 to meet reason-
able further progress requirements in cleaning the
air of the San Diego Region, and finally resolved,
that this commitment limited to the City's capacity
as operator. of National City Transit.
