HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 16,244RESOLUTION NO. 16,244 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY GRANTING A VARIANCE FOR A NEW 55 FOOT DRIVEWAY, AND DENYING A VARIANCE FOR AN 86 FOOT EXTENSION OF AN EXISTING 64 FOOT DRIVEWAY, AT 1010 WEST 19TH STREET WHEREAS, the Zellerbach Paper Company, 1010 West 19th Street, has requested a variance to extend the width of its existing 64 foot driveway by 86 feet, for a total of 150 feet, in order to provide better access to its loading dock; and WHEREAS, according to the San Diego Regional Standard Drawing, the maximum allowable curb opening for each driveway for commercial use is 30 feet with a minimum of 26 feet between curb openings serving the same parcel; and WHEREAS, based on the physical layout of the loading dock, and the existence of minimum pedestrian traffic, it was recommended by the City Engineer that a new 55 foot wide driveway opening, rather than an increased driveway width by 86 feet, be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City that a variance is granted for a new 55 foot wide driveway, adjacent to an existing 64 foot driveway, with 26 feet of curb between them, at 1010 West 19th Street. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the variance for an extension of the existing 64 foot driveway by 86 feet, for a total of 150 feet, is hereby denied. PASSED and ADOPTED this 22nd day of May, 1990.
